In today’s world, bullying seems to be a big problem everywhere you look, whether it’s at school, work, or on social media. Bullying is when a person is being picked on for their appearance, religion, sexuality, actions, or possibly no reason at all. Bullying is very real. It’s a serious thing and occurs in the shape of cyber bullying, physical bullying, and verbal bullying. “Sometimes bullies are bullying others because they’re hurting too,” said Joshua Soto. Cyber bullying is a big issue. Cyber bullying can cause depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. Once things are posted online, they are there forever. We should think about our actions and ways to prevent someone from harming themselves. It affects millions of people worldwide and is growing over time. “Don’t be scared to stand up to a bully. Say something or it’ll keep happening,” said Azael Maldonado. If you know someone is being bullied, take action. As a community, we should be lifting others up instead of bringing them down.
